Revision Privacy Policy

Revision is a website feedback tool made of a Chrome extension and a dashboard at revision.ashikhosen.com. People pin notes to the exact spot on a website they review; the notes arrive in the dashboard with a screenshot, the page address and the conversation. This policy explains what information Revision handles and why.

What the extension collects

• Account details you give when you create a profile or sign in: name, username, email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash).
• Feedback you submit: the note text, priority, the address and title of the page, a description of the element you selected (its selector and label), the position of the pin, and files you attach.
• A screenshot of the page, only when you submit feedback on a website where the administrator has enabled screenshots.
• Technical details of your browser sent with feedback to help reproduce issues: browser and version, operating system, screen and window size, language.
• Delivery and error reports (whether a submission was delivered, error codes). They contain no page content.

The extension works only on websites an administrator has registered in Revision. It does not read, record or send what you do on any other website, and it does not track your browsing history.

How the information is used

Only to provide the service: to show your feedback and replies to the people who are allowed to see them, to notify them, and to keep the service secure and working. Revision contains no advertising, no analytics trackers and no sale of data. Information is not used for purposes unrelated to the single purpose of the extension (collecting and managing website feedback).

Where it is stored and who sees it

• Feedback, screenshots and account data are stored on the Revision server, hosted with Hostinger. The connection is encrypted (HTTPS).
• Before delivery, a submission is kept in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) so it is not lost when you are offline. You can clear it by removing the extension.
• Who can see feedback is controlled per website and per person by the Revision administrator: you see your own notes, and, if the administrator allows it, everyone's notes on the websites you are connected to.
• Information is not shared with third parties, except service providers needed to run the server (hosting and email delivery) and when the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

Feedback and accounts stay until an administrator deletes them. Deleted items are kept in a trash for 30 days so mistakes can be undone, then removed permanently. To have your account and its feedback deleted earlier, write to the address above.

Security

Passwords are hashed; sessions use short-lived tokens; every request is checked against your permissions on the server; uploads are validated; sign-in and sign-up attempts are rate limited. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Your choices

• You can ask to see, correct or delete the information held about you.
• You can stop all collection at any time by signing out or uninstalling the extension.
• The extension asks you to agree to this storage before you can request a profile.

Children

Revision is a professional tool and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above is updated and, for significant changes, administrators are informed.
